About the Journal

Cover of Society Journal, featuring title and registered ISSN numbers Society, (abbreviated key-title: Society (Bangka), with registered number ISSN 2338-6932 (Print) and ISSN 2597-4874 (Online), is an open-access and peer-reviewed journal, published two times a year (June and December) by the Social Engineering Laboratory, Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Universitas Bangka Belitung. Our main goal is to spread the latest and original articles from researchers and practitioners in Studies in Human Society.

Society is intended to be the journal for publishing articles reporting the results of research on various topics include, but not limited to, Sociology, Policy and Administration, Political Science, Anthropology, Demography, Human Geography, Social Work, Criminology, and Other Studies in Human Society.

Recognizing the importance of a global perspective, Society actively encourages and welcomes contributions from international researchers and practitioners. We aim to provide a platform for the exchange of diverse ideas and research findings on a global scale. To fulfill this commitment, the journal publishes articles in both English and Indonesian languages.

Society is accredited by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology of the Republic of Indonesia, Decree No. 177/E/KPT/2024, Rank 2 (Sinta 2), valid until 2026. This journal provides immediate open access to its content, on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge.

In order to enhance the international reputation, every article will be published in both English and Indonesian languages. Articles received in Indonesian will be translated into English, and vice versa.

Library Catalog

The Society journal is accessible both online and in print through several prominent national and international libraries, extending its reach to a global audience. The online version is available through the Perpustakaan Nasional Republik Indonesia (National Library of the Republic of Indonesia) via Indonesia OneSearch by PERPUSNAS, offering Indonesian researchers and academics seamless access to the journal's content.

Additionally, the print edition of Society is included in the prestigious ASEAN Collection at the Perpustakaan Negara Malaysia (National Library of Malaysia) in Kuala Lumpur, and is also cataloged at the National Library of Australia in Canberra, making the journal widely accessible to scholars and institutions across Southeast Asia and Australia.

Move to Continuous Publication

Society, (abbreviated key-title: Society (Bangka), will move to a continuous publishing model in 2020. This means that as soon as an article is prepared it will be released online, creating a rapid flow of quality articles. When an issue cycle closes, articles will go to print and the next issue will commence online.
